The Christmas Tag

I love tag posts, they're just a bit of fun really, and what's more fun than Christmas! A Christmas tag, that's what! I saw this on someone's blog a couple days ago and loved it. I screenshot all the questions but stupidly forgot to note down the blog title. Rooky move, Melissa. But, here it is...

What is your favourite Christmas movie?

Elf. The Grinch. I'm not really too sure. Elf was the first one to come to mind but The Grinch owns more of my heart.

Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas Morning?

Christmas morning. In my family, Santa left our stocking by the foot of our bed and we opened the whole thing on our parents bed the following morning. Then at a reasonable time we'd head back downstairs and open the presents under the tree. Opening one on Christmas Eve is a traditions I'd like to have when I start my own family.

Do you have a favourite Christmas memory?

One year, Santa showed up at our door on Christmas morning. His story was that someone, namingly me, spooked his reindeer's in the night and he didn't get to deliver all of his gifts. So he just popped back once he'd finished his rounds to drop them off.

What is your favourite festive food?

Mince pies. Hands down. The prawn cocktail starter on Christmas day comes pretty close, but definitely mince pies. I love making my own, check back on the 18th for a recipe.

What is the favourite Christmas gift you have ever received?

About 4 years ago, George bought me a guitar. I wanted to learn how to play guitar for the longest time, I still do. My fingers are just too small, but I think it's been my favourite gift.

Do you have any Christmas eve traditions?

I love going shopping on Christmas Eve. Normally, I have all of my gift shopping done by then and payday always comes the Friday before Christmas in December so I always do a cheeky little bit of present shopping for myself.

What tops your tree?

A star because we have a silver and white tree.

As a kid, what was the one (crazy, wild, extravagant) gift you asked for but never received?

I'm not actually sure. I asked for a lot of things that were probably silly and wasteful as a child, but I can't say I can name one that was particularly extravagant or crazy.

What's the best part about Christmas for you?

I really love how happy everyone is. I work in retail and have for the past 5 years, it's so fun around Christmas because everyone is so much happier. I love working on the till because we gift wrap too and it's so fun wrapping this present knowing that someone is going to be so excited on Christmas morning.

I honestly just had so much fun answering those questions, that I kind of wish there were more! Maybe next year I could add some more in? Not that many of the answers to these questions will have changed, but we'll see.

Love always,
Melissa
