I noticed a month or so back that No.7 offer this 'colour matching experience' where they assess your skin tone and tell you what lip colours from their 'Moisture Stay' and 'Stay Perfect' ranges which will compliment you best. Now, if you are anything like me, then finding a bold red lip that doesn't make my skin look pallid and eyes like I haven't slept in a week then you will understand why this is the next best thing to sliced bread.
Payday rolled around last week so I finally took the trip into Boots and got the lovely lady at No.7 to match me up. They start by cleaning off any make-up you've applied on your cheek, so if your considering doing this, go on a 'no-makeup' day. They then pull out this phone sized device, press it against your lower cheek and scan until it gives a reading. It's very quick and simple. The lady double checked the reading was correcting by matching the foundation to my skin - i'm 'Cool Beige' - before giving you a small, purse sized card with all the lip sticks which best suit you.
I was so impressed by this and surprised that I haven't seen it done before. I mean, i've seen Dulex have a paint scanner but one for make-up, well that's revolutionary! ha!
I ended up walking away with my perfect bold red lip, which was a Moisture Stay in Brick Red and a subtle pink for every day use, which is 'Raspberry Silk'. I have my perfect match colour card safely stowed away in my purse and will definitely be heading back in this week to make the most of the '3 for 2' offer that No.7 have just applied in Boots stores.
