The happy hair remedy

Bumble & Bumble has been on my 'must try products' list for so, so long. I've had my eye on trying the 'Surf' and 'Hairdresser's Invisible Oils' range, but I don't have a local stockists near me which meant getting hold of it pretty tricky. However a couple weeks ago I stumbled across a 'Bb' stand whilst on a shopping trip and finally got to take the plunge.

I went for the 'Invisible Oils' range because i'm really into adding beneficial oils into my hair care routine. But lets face it, the weather has turned sour here in the UK, summer is well and truly over so I wasn't about to try and fake it with beautiful beach waves. Although I definitely considered it! The invisible oils kit includes 6 natural oils; grape seed oil, Sweet almond oil, macadamia oil, coconut oil, argon oil and safflower seed oil, plus the shampoo is sulphate free which means happy hair.

I purchased the travel kit which I thought was a perfect way to try a product before splurging the £19 a bottle for the full sized items. The kit includes with a 60ml Shampoo, Conditioner and Primer, all for the same price as one single full sized bottle, £19.

Bumble & Bumble say the range is meant to 'soften, silken, tame, de-frizz, detangle and protect' and it's not often that I can admit a product actually does all of the things it says it does. My hair is noticeably softer, and fly-aways are at an all time low which is great for someone with frizzy hair like myself. My hair isn't particularly tangly after I wash it but I did notice a small difference in the pull on my hair when I comb it through after my shower. The Shampoo and Condition smell lovely, sort of orange and citrusy when you put your nose to it but the smell does't linger once you're dry. However, I wasn't overly impressed by the conditioner, I found the formula a little too thick and trying to work it evenly through wet hair was quite difficult. I reckon someone with thicker hair than my thin, curly mop would really struggle.

The primer however is what immediately drew me to the products in the first place. I've heard of make-up primers and paint primers but never one specifically for your hair. To be honest I guess it's just another way of marketing a heat protectant but it worked on me and i'm glad it did too. It's hard to find a heat protectant on the highstreet that works for both heat styling and UV rays from the sun. The formula is super light so doesn't way your hair down and is a great 'first base' for styling your hair. So far i've only tried using it on wet hair but i'm definitely going to try it on dry hair one day this week to see if it helps with the second day bed head that I tend to get.

The primer will definitely be a re-puchase and in it's fuller size when I run out but i'm not so sure about the shampoo and conditioner. I will have to do a softness test first and see if i get the same results without using the conditioner.

All my love,
