First ever Lush haul...

I can't walk past a LUSH shop without going in, it smells amazing, looks amazing and generally just is amazing. I'm a student without access to a bath so purchasing something was always a bit of a silly idea for me because i'd want to indulge in the yummy looking bath bombs and body soaps. However after years of holding back, I finally gave in. And I didn't even by a bath related item!

I get really dehydrated lips and hands. I never suffered from any type of skin dehydration up until a couple of years ago. I have tried hundreds of lip balms, petroleum jellies and moisturising lip glosses with no avail. I purchased the 'Popcorn Lip Scrub', which is - of sorts - an exfoliator for the lips. The scrub is made from all natural ingredients, like all Lush products, and includes Jojoba Oil and Coconut Oil.

The 25g tub is tiny but comes full to the brim, literally and you only need the smallest amount so the product will last for ages. You can grab the scrub in three 'flavours', Popcorn, Bubblegum and Mint Julips. The seasonal version 'Santa's Lip Scrub' is also available throughout the festive season. Whilst I love the smell of the Popcorn one I have, it is very salty. I reckon I might go for a sweeter one next time.

For my hands, I managed to pick up 'Handy Gurugu' which is a heavy duty hand cream. Whilst my hands get dehydrated, I don't find them dry and cracking, however I picked up the thicker of the Lush hand creams because at University I work a lot with paint and glue and materials that do a lot of damage to the skin. I really wanted something that I could put on in the evenings to repair whatever damage I had done throughout the day.

The hand cream soaks in fast and like it says on the pot 'a little goes a long way' you don't need more than a pea sized amount for both hands so like the Lip Scrub, the 'Handy Gurugu' is going to last me all the way through the colder seasons.

The kind girls in the store also gave me two smaller tubs that I could put the hand cream in to take around with me in my handbag.

For a hand moisturiser and lip scrub, they are a slightly on the borderline expensive side (remember i'm a student), totalling at £13 but considering all the ingredients are natural, vegan and the products are not tested on animals, I was more than willing to spend a little extra!

Have you used any Lush products before? I really want to try the 'All that Glitters' Bath Bomb next, when I find a place with a bath first.

All my love,
Melissa

  2. Lush is one of my favorite stores. Unfortunately, I don't have one where I live. I would actually have to travel by boat or plane to get to my nearest Lush store, so I'm very thankful for online shopping! I love their products 99.9% of the time (I've only tried one bath bomb that I haven't liked, and that's only because I didn't like having bits of lavender floating around in my tub--it felt like I was covered in bugs!) so I don't worry about not seeing the products in person before purchasing. They're always great.

If you ever get access to a bath, I seriously recommend trying any of their bath products! The bubble bars, bath bombs, and bath melts are all amazing!!

However, as for products you can use in the shower, I will suggest their Big Shampoo. It goes a long way and makes your hair feel incredible! Also, if you battle with oily skin or blemishes, their Herbalism cleanser is amazing. It doesn't smell as awesome as a lot of their products, but you definitely get used to it, and it works so well! Their Honey Trap lip balm is really nice as well. It tastes like honey and it is extremely moisturizing.

I'm really interested in trying their D'Fluff Shaving Cream. I've heard it's incredibly moisturizing and smells amazing! So I think that's next on my list!
